In the fall of 2016 I rediscovered my love of photography. I had always enjoyed the mechanics of cameras, but I found that when I had my DSLR with me, I wouldn't use it. Photography had become... inconvenient. Traditional cameras were often a heavy, conspicuous, time-consuming process that divided my focus. In the end, the iPhone camera in my pocket became a vital tool in my development as an artist. Using it, I fell in love with composition and moments in a different way. I focused on what was in my frame, rather than the settings on my camera; I was allowed to observe raw moments with my undivided attention.
These are a few stills that have made the cut.
I made an instagram to track my progress, naming it 'widoba' combining the first two letters from all of my names. I had originally used this pseudonym as a placeholder, and it stuck.
